- Electro-Optics Engineer I
This position involves hands-on experimental work in electro-optics to support the development and characterization of remote sensing systems. The position involves laboratory testing and calibrating electro-optic systems, working with a variety of laser systems, and applying techniques for absolute radiometry to measurements of lasers and other observables. The position will also involve occasional field testing related to remote sensing systems. A B.S. degree or prior experience in this area is required. Experience using MATLAB, C++, LABVIEW, or knowledge of optics design is a plus.
- Electro-Optics Engineer II
This position involves experimental and analytic work in electro-optics to support the development and characterization of remote sensing systems. The employee will make strong contributions in the development of novel laboratory calibration and test designs for characterizing electro-optic systems, working with a variety of laser systems, and developing techniques for deriving absolute radiometry from measurements of laser observables. Laser technologies include optical parametric oscillators, ultra-short lasers, quantum cascade lasers, as well as more traditional pulsed and continuous wave laser technologies. Demonstrated experience with sensor design, development and modeling, and knowledge of applied photonics is desired. The position will also involve occasional field testing related to remote sensing systems. A M.S. or Ph.D. degree, or a B.S. degree plus at least 5 years experience in this area is required. Experience using MATLAB is also desired. Experience with C++, LABVIEW, and/or knowledge of optical design techniques is a plus.
- Electrical Engineer I
The position involves development of novel digital electronic circuits and systems. The employee will make strong contributions to all phases of system development, from schematic design and board layout through testing the final products. The development of firmware for embedded systems (e.g., microcontrollers, FPGAs, DSPs) will also be involved. Experience with ORCAD, SPICE, VHDL, ARM Assembly, MATLAB and C/C++ is desired. Familiarity with analog and/or high speed digital design techniques is a plus. A B.S.E.E. degree or higher is required.
- Electrical Engineer II
The position will involve development of novel mixed-signal electronics and high speed embedded processing systems. The employee will make strong contributions to all phases of development, from schematic design and board layout through testing the final products. The employee must demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas: 1) Design of high bandwidth amplifiers, with an emphasis on applications involving photodiodes; 2) Design of high speed bus architectures associated with processing of focal plane data streams; 3) Hardware signal processing of real time sensor data. The employee will be expected to consider power budgeting and thermal management as part of the design process. Experience with ORCAD and SPICE are required. Experience with MATLAB and C/C++ is desired. A B.S.E.E. or higher and at least 5 years experience in electrical circuit design is required.
- Computer Systems Engineer
The position will involve hands-on implementation of signal processing and analysis algorithms in C++ and Windows-based graphical user interface design, as well as development of software to support high-speed data transfers and networking (TCP/IP, USB). The position may also include developing scientific software to support data analysis, and may evolve to include embedded software development involving state of the art digital signal processors, microcontrollers, and small-format computer systems. Familiarity with digital electronics is a plus. Experience with MATLAB and C++ is required. A B.S. degree or higher is required.
- Electronics Technician
The position involves providing technician support for the development of novel electronic technologies. The employee will work alongside a staff of experienced engineers in the following capacities: assembly, testing, and inspection of printed circuit boards, bench testing, assembly of wiring harnesses, providing support for parts selection for circuit designs, general laboratory support such as maintaining stock and coordinating equipment maintenance, management and execution of parts ordering, and preparing and maintaining bills of materials. Opportunities to participate in field testing of novel instrumentation will also exist. An associate’s degree or higher is required, and salary will be commensurate with experience and the degree to which the employee is able to work independently.
- Engineer/Scientist I
The position requires an individual capable of working in signal processing and/or the modeling of phenomenology relating to remote sensing. Applicants should have strong mathematical skills, be proficient in C++ and MATLAB, and have a genuine interest in scientific investigations. This position will involve sensor performance verification, model validation, and the development of scientific software. Opportunities to participate in field experiments will exist. Knowledge of spectral or image processing will be useful. A B.S. degree in engineering, applied physics or chemistry is required.
